Luke Rathborne just released two new songs that paint a picture of what you should expect from forthcoming material. ‘I Wish I Was A Bird’ is a dreamy ballad, channeling influences like Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen, but ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ is an evocative pop-leaning counterpart. Rathborne’s most poetic composition yet, it opens with “I was lyin’ my head in the hospital bed, just before the room caught fire..” spinning images inspired by literary storytellers like Sam Shepard and Raymond Carver. ‘Don’t Call Me Baby‘ and ‘I Wish I Was A Bird‘ were co-produced by Claudius Mittendorfer and Luke Rathborne and are out now via Ribbon Music.
