I arrived early to the show at the legendary Empty Bottle. Har Mar Superstar didn’t arrive until later but in that time I was hanging out with Milwaukee’s finest: GGOOLLDD. These guys are just too much fun – they immediately welcomed me and Margaret Butler offered me a vodka. While kicking around in the green room, an acoustic guitar was brought out and we started tossing it around playing old rock ’n’ roll sing alongs like “Dead Flowers” by the Rolling Stones and “Free Fallin” by Tom Petty. The GGOOLLDD folk were jumping in left and right with three and sometimes four part harmonies while laughing at each other for singing the wrong words while warming up their vocal cords prior to performing – great vibes! Check out the the amazing captured video from that weekend at West Fest on July 9th below and the Polaroids from the Empty Bottle 25th Anniversary Sold Out show on July 8th up above.
