Nicolas Jaar has teamed up with longtime Gil Scott-Heron collaborator Brian Jackson to soundtrack Eleven Times, a short film inspired by Michael Brown and Eric Garner, the unarmed black men who were both killed by police in 2014. Directed by Samantha Casolari, the video features several black men who detail their experiences with being stopped by the police. (The title refers to the number of times Garner said “I can’t breathe” before he was killed by a chokehold.) Watch the short but captivating film below, via Nowness.
